WPLN: Camp closure means new era & major adjustments

"I'm gonna miss the people that were here. You know what I mean? You get used to seeing 'em, the same people, every day. And they're all gone....it's just part of life, I guess."

Becky was one of the last people to leave Brookmeade Park. For her and her neighbors who have moved to transitional housing, the end of this road is the beginning of another long, hard one. Temporary housing is great. Permanent housing is essential — and elusive.

These next few months are a critical and difficult time of new focus on physical and mental health care, addiction management, and feelings of isolation.

I interviewed and produced this assigned followup piece which involved three visits to the park.
